…and he puts you on his mailing list! [Please note: Marc Morano is nowhere near as relevant as Beelzebub!! It is just a gimmick for a blog title.]

So I poked fun at Marc Morano the other day, and though he thankfully did not pop up in my comments he must have read the post because the next day I started receiving his spam.


The first email was approvingly quoting Pielke Jr, which I have no doubt thrills him. Roger’s fear? Not that humanity is facing daunting challenges and may not act quickly enough, no what keeps Roger awake at night is James Hansen’s belief that politicians should take marching orders from him. Of course, as usual, what Hansen really says is very reasonable and Pielke’s spin is not.

Morano was also gleefully going on about how the IPCC authors are not really scientists. Readers can have a look at this excellent compilation of the 650 WG1 authors and make up their own minds. Of course the bulk of his emails are regurgitations of all the standard falsehoods but I do look forward to the prodding for new guide articles his spam will provide.

Just trying to be a glass-half-full kind of guy!

    I don’t know about you, but that email (yes I am also on his list) made me laugh. Morano has no problem making up lists full of non-scientists and passing them off as a credible refute of the scientific consensus. Oh the irony…

    I missed that delightful little nugget. I do love how Roger pivots between calling Hansen “boneheaded” to citing him approvingly as an authority when it advances Pielke’s own antiregulation agenda to attacking strawmen of Hansen’s alleged ‘authoritarianism’.

    I do wonder how he handles the cognitive dissonance.
