These are called von Kármán vortices.

    Thanks for the well wishes, barry. Things are pretty quiet around here aside from the weekly GW News posting. Two toddlers don’t leave much time for blogging! But that is a trade I would make anytime, anywhere :)

    Of course, with toddlers around, grown-up jigsaws are out of the question. You haven’t tried it? Don’t bother.
