Not if you're this guy.
Bummer.
Next we'll hear about miraculous "cowbell cures" from alties.
"A statement of fact cannot be insolent." The miscellaneous ramblings of a surgeon/scientist on medicine,
quackery, science, pseudoscience, history, and pseudohistory (and anything else that interests him)
Orac is the nom de blog of a (not so) humble pseudonymous surgeon/scientist with an ego just big enough to delude himself that someone, somewhere might actually give a rodent's posterior about his miscellaneous verbal meanderings, but just barely small enough to admit to himself that few will. (Continued here, along with a DISCLAIMER that you should read before reading any medical discussions here.)

Sonofabitch - the Will Ferrell/Christopher Walken bit got the song stuck in my head so much that I had to go learn it. I spent enough time on it on this perfectly good Saturday morning that I even struggled whether to accept or delete the correction made in the main riff by contributors to this 12-year-old tabulature submission. (After playing it about a hundred times each way, I think that you DO want to have your 3rd finger on the 3rd fret of the D string while picking the F chord part of the riff).
Damn you, Orac. Now my 3-year-old wants to play the cowbell.

I was, for most intents and purposes, living under a rock when the "More cowbell" thing came out, and now I think I finally understand. (I wasn't sure who to ask by the time I realized I was totally clueless....) Thank you for that, and thank you for the amusing comic.

I actually have a t-shirt that says, "More Cowbell" with a picture of the...I hesitate to say "instrument". That SNL clip is so damn funny I can't even stand it. Thanks for giving me a laugh on a rather crappy Sunday.

The fact that the "more cowbell" meme rides on the endemic virulence of "Don't Fear the Reaper" has made it powerfully infective.
Thank you, Orac. I had not been infected, and am already a grateful carrier, who promptly passed it on to my son and husband.
Long Live Gene Frenkle, who only in "death" became real to us.
