Respectful Insolence

"A statement of fact cannot be insolent." The miscellaneous ramblings of a surgeon/scientist on medicine,
quackery, science, pseudoscience, history, and pseudohistory (and anything else that interests him)

Who (or what) is Orac?

orac.jpg Orac is the nom de blog of a (not so) humble pseudonymous surgeon/scientist with an ego just big enough to delude himself that someone, somewhere might actually give a rodent's posterior about his miscellaneous verbal meanderings, but just barely small enough to admit to himself that few will. (Continued here, along with a DISCLAIMER that you should read before reading any medical discussions here.)

Orac's old Blog is archived at Archived Insolence.

Dammit, Orac, you just don't like passive-aggressive chronically depressed people with ADHD enough to give them their own song, do you? I see how it is. You just don't like them anymore.

Ooh, shiny...

What about:

Suicidal: Up on the Rooftop!

I'm bipolar, and I've had problems with clinically-diagnosable paranoia in the past, and I enjoyed this post. Thanks!

Shouldn't the song for schizophrenia be "Do You Hear What I Hear in My Head?"

Orac -- Loved the play list! As someone diagnosed as chronically depressed, I don't have a Christmas theme song to add. ("I'm dreaming of a black Christmas" seems too lame.) Having said that, I'll just salute you with my Christmas coffee mug which reads, "Bah Humshit!"

Social Anxiety Disorder: It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas (where can I hide?)

Post-natal Depression: What Child Is This?

ADHD: On the first day of Christmas, my oooh shiny!

Dementia: Over the river and through the woods, where was I going?

Broadening the category to include, well, everyone:

MADD: Grandma Got Run Over By a Drunken Reindeer

Stoner: Angels We Have Heard While High

Poly: I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, and Mrs. Claus, and the Elves, and -

Shouldn't that be Disassociate Identity Disorder? Don't anger the APA or you won't be on their Christmas card list...
