Remember Donnie Davies, the "youth pastor" that I wrote about a couple of days ago, who posted a list of gay bands, plus a homophobic video proclaiming that "God hates a fag" that led to a prolonged debate over whether he was for real or some sort of elaborate Borat-like prank?
Two sources tell me that he's apparently been outed as actor Joey Oglesby:
Thanks to the sleuthing of Dallas JMG reader Bob Stoller, "Pastor Donnie Davies" has been exposed as Dallas-area actor Joey Oglesby (First name corrected from post headline). Here he is. Joey Oglesby recently appeared in a production of Debbie Does Dallas: The Musical. Joey Oglesby is a former member of the Chicken & Pickle Guys sketch comedy duo.
And it appears to make perfect sense if you read this description of the Chicken & Pickle Guys' comedy: "The show is a comedy stew of dance, homophobic/gay experimentation, male chauvinism, obscure racism, and spiritual revelation."
He's also shown up in another, unrelated video for you to compare:
Assuming this identification is correct, thank heaven our long national nightmare is over. Well, our national nightmare of about a week, anyway.

No, not Archie Bunker. I'd point the finger at Howard Stern, or rather at the 'radio personalities' and station managers who try to find people even more outrageous to steal Stern's audience. Stern -- who I will not listen to -- at least walks a pretty careful line. It's the "Opie and whazizname's" and the others who don't even see the line that cause the trouble.
(I'm not implying the "Donnie Davies" hoax belongs here. It is true satire, and if there's really a movie coming out, it will be worth checking out. But the 'meta-bigotry' bit seems to have this as a base. Archie -- and even more Alf Garnett, the English sitcom character he was based on -- was deliberately shown to be a fool to be laughed AT. You don't get this with Stern or his imitators.)
