Dead Zones Are Now Deadlier

Remember those disgusting vast areas of the ocean depleted of oxygen and devoid of fish, shrimp, and marine life?

Funny how that article neglects to mention the effect of golf courses on this as well. My family knows first hand the devastation that golf courses have wrecked on the coastal inlets of the Carolinas.

I think these dead zones are a good thing, because they protect citizens enjoying a swim at our nation's beaches from attacks by sharks!

Of course the wasteful use of fertilizer is bad. We should all be able to agree on this. A lot can be fixed by just more efficient application of course, but there will still be runoff...

Why would we waste all that nutrient rich water? Seems like a prime opportunity for reclaiming some of those nutrients, or even using it to grow useful stuff.

By "golf courses" here, you mean fertilizer runoff from golf courses, right? As opposed to shots going into the water.
