In two days, my favorite co-blogger will be appearing on Comedy Central's The Colbert Report to discuss the 'war on science' and how the Obama administration can fix it. With the nation abuzz over the stimulus package, melting ice shelves, and new cabinet appointments, it's a timely subject, no?

Chris has already shared some ideas at Slate.com and during his recent Bloggingheads diavlog with Carl Zimmer.  It's also a topic and we explore comprehensively in Unscientific America: How Scientific Illiteracy Threatens Our Future.

So with a lot more to come, tune in Monday night!

I would look forward to watching Chris on Colbert. I think at some point one or both of you should pen an article about how it's not just the administration but more importantly the common people who can truly end the "war on science". The problem is that no amount of presidential reform can accelerate scientific development if the public does not fundamentally support scientific temper. For a post related to this issue, see link

Chris looked like he had just rolled out of bed on the Bloggingheads thing--let's hope he spruces himself up a little bit for Colbert. Better yet, he should get himself a Colbert-style coif prior to the show. That would be pretty funny!

I look forward to the Report. I doubt, however, that the nation is abuzz over melting ice sheets. Unless of course you are speaking facetiously.
