If this video is any indication, both eruptions have the potential to do a lot of damage and it seems to me they're not mutually exclusive. So let's keep an eye on each.
(And spare the fruit fly funding too).

Why spend money on volcano monitoring when the Internet will do it for us for free?
If a volcano erupts in the middle of the ocean and there is no video camera there to record it, does it make a sound?
