Dr. Isis has been getting all surgical this week and has spent the week in scrubs and frankly ugly shoes. It has been brought to my attention that while I have been focusing on science, someone else has been posting pictures of shoes. I realized today, after spending four days in ugly shoes and feeling a little jealous at the shoe deliciousness that others have been posting, that I needed to get a weekly shoe up before I lost my faith in God and humanity (and no, I am not simply being dramatic. Four days in ugly shoes is like psychological warfare to the domestic and laboratory goddess).
With that, I present this week's lickable shoe.

Why am I now hankering for a mocca?

Nothing like having your shoe thing 'stepping out' on you ...that is just not right..!!
I am sure it was like a meme ...or something.

But I'm a bit surprised Isis, they have a *chunkier* heel than I would have pictured you liking. I think they're purdy

Oh my lord. I don't usually comment, because I don't have the same taste in shoez (I'm more the sturdy work casuals type), but I want those. I want those now.

I like these shoes. They are nice but still very professional. Speaking of shoes....I saw the pair you gave to SciCurious-- Very Hot and Sexy...and the Chocolate shoe as a nice touch. I took p

Those shoes look uncomfortable and impractical. It would be very very helpful if you would write something about why otherwise sensible women like yourself consider overpriced uncomfortable and impractical shoes to be a 'good thing'.
As far as the commentator who described the shoes you pictured as 'professional', I would be inclined to be skeptical of the professional qualifications of a physician who was wearing shoes that would injure her (or his) feet and which increased the likelihood of falling and made it impossible to run. Wasting money on something that damages feet, adds stress to the day, and reduces the wearer's ability to function does not strike me as the actions of a professional.
In short, I really really do not get this shoe thing.

I should also have mentioned that describing the shoes as 'sexy' (or describing a car as 'sexy', etc.) also makes no sense whatsoever to me. To my ears it sounds like someone who describes shoes, cars, or whatever as sexy is mentioning a fetish. I really really do not 'get it'.

ok...I'm not usually into shoes and most of your shoes I think "I'm sure those are hot on the goddess, not so much for me" but I like these!! Chunky heel, rounded toe and elegantly understated decoration. I'm frankly shocked at myself.
Admittedly I will not be buying them however, sad.

Seriously, Christopher? Seriously?

The appropriate comment now Isis would be "Talk to the shoes - cause Isis isn't listening". And Christopher how unless there is something you haven't confessed to how would you know if they were uncomfortable and impractical? FYI there are some heels that are quite comfy and since Isis is a PhD the physician comment really doesn't apply. Isis is that a blog waiting to happen or have you already done the subject justice re the mistaken Dr (MD/PhD) thing?

Ahh... Christopher you do not understand. Though I wear Crocs, I understand the allure and desirability of shoes such as those shown.
If I were 30 years younger, I'd be wearing them. They are classic.

Gorgeous! Possibly my favorite pair so far.

Eppendork, there's obviously something he hasn't confessed. Look at how quickly he associated shoes with fetishes.

And the matching bag for these would have to be chocolate velvet for the main part and base, with a cream and chocolate print (in a similar patern to the shoes, of course) for the top ruffle and lining, with a cream or chocolate draw cord.
Asphericity, you could have a bag to match each pair of shoes. Keep them in the bag, and then just grab and go each day, knowing from the bag, which pair of shoes you've got.
eleanora, who has to admit she's more into textiles than shoes. (And now wanting cookies and cream ice cream.)

call me a fetishist, then, because i can't help but think this is sexy.

I agree with Christopher. Scrubs and clogs for me anyday. Although, if I preferred heels, I probably wouldn't be admitting that here.

Definitely lickable.
Just FYI, your affinity for Naughty Monkey shoes brought the brand to my attention and I have recently purchased what I consider to be an equally lickable pair. http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/44295211/c/158.html
I wore them to an inauguration party and they were a smash hit. The party hostesses even brought them up the next day and told everyone in the lab that I had the most amazing shoes.

Those are delicious in black!

Wait. Maybe my vision is off...but is that rounded toe actually square? I'm conflicted.

I have not worn shoes of the OMG shoez type so as to really know, but I have been told by other shoe goddesses that if you shell out for the good brands, the cushioning and support and fit really do make them comfortable. I have had a couple of decent low-mid heel shoes that do feel good enough that I believe it.

Shoes like these make me wish my ankles could tolerate heels higher than 1.75".
For the love of all things Holy, help me find some hot shoes that won't break my ankles!

Hey there Dr. I. ...and all...
A link to a shoe drawing that I think you might like. Just a random blogger 'out there', someone I blog roll because I enjoy her drawings so much.
(The direct link to the rather large jpg (sorry) because for some reason her blog page links seem whacked for some reason...)
Anyway, just thought I would point these out to you in particular. Of course I thought of you and this blog when I first saw them...

Dr. Isis, you've inspired me to blog about my most recent shoe acquisition (see link). Huzzah! Not sure if I'd wear the pair from this post, however -- wouldn't go with my wardrobe.
