The Egyptian goddess Isis was celebrated as the ideal wife and mother. The blogger known as Dr. Isis has some fancy-sounding degrees and is a physiologist at a major research university working on some terribly impressive stuff. She blogs about balancing her research career with the demands of raising small children, how to succeed as a woman in academia, and anything else she finds interesting. Also, she blogs about shoes. In fact, she blogs a lot about shoes.

...And behold, he raised the motherfucking Jameson on high as Isis bedecked her feet in glory, and the masses were sated. -- The Holy Gospel According to PhysioProf

loxosceles Wins Isis's Necklace!

Posted on: May 29, 2009 10:00 AM, by Isis the Scientist

A few days ago I featured the awesome jewelry making skills of an amazing graduate student named Natalya. Natalya offered to give away one of her favorite pieces to one of you little muffins. I put the number of comments on the post (32) into Random.org and picked a winner. Here's the screen shot of the results:

Figure 1: #22, the commenter "loxosceles," is the winner!!!

I like that recently I've been able to share on professor's cool musical stylings and a graduate student's jewelry-making prowess. If there are other folks with cool talents you think I should be sharing, let me know.

And, if you've emailed me in the last few days and I haven't answered, I've had to make a trip to the Major Suburban City of my birth. I'll be back with you soon.

I adore you , little chickens!

Congratulations, loxosceles! Thank you to everyone for participating and for looking at my site!

I demand a recount! At least one of those posts was Isis herself, so it must have been a ploy to try and get both the peices! I shouldn't have to spend my own money to support a talented artist!

[/waaaah][/tongue in cheek]

Congrats :)

Congrats, Ioxosceles! I was pulling for #16 as I thought that post best fit the "hottness incarnate" requirement, in my humble opinion. ;) And I love, love, LOVE Natalya's work - thanks Dr. Isis!

(I didn't check in until Thursday otherwise I'd have left a comment.)
