The Egyptian goddess Isis was celebrated as the ideal wife and mother. The blogger known as Dr. Isis has some fancy-sounding degrees and is a physiologist at a major research university working on some terribly impressive stuff. She blogs about balancing her research career with the demands of raising small children, how to succeed as a woman in academia, and anything else she finds interesting. Also, she blogs about shoes. In fact, she blogs a lot about shoes.

...And behold, he raised the motherfucking Jameson on high as Isis bedecked her feet in glory, and the masses were sated. -- The Holy Gospel According to PhysioProf

Saturday Morning Grant Writing Jam [Updated]

Category: Ass Shaking Jams
Posted on: July 18, 2009 2:21 PM, by Isis the Scientist

The other day I was conversing with my one, true blogging bff and in the context of our chat she reminded me of this song...

Video 1: Is Dr. Isis the one who has been a bad, bad girl? The original video is here but is not available for embedding.

This is, for certain, among Dr. Isis's top favorite jams of all time. Who didn't want to be Fiona Apple in the 90s?

[Update]:  My blog bff has videos of her own. Apparently this is her, Arikia of The Millikan Daily, Bora, PhysioProf, Vanessa of Bonobo Handshake, and me.  Hilarity!  I think I can guess which one I am, but which hipster dude is PhysioProf?

Well, I wanted to be Liz Phair instead. But, not any more!
