Time to step into some not styling, not hot, shoes (I recommend hiking boots as they support the ankles and protect the feet) and get climbing. Hiking up a mountain is great for the calves, thighs and butt. So you will look even hotter in your Naughty Monkeys afterward.

And having conquered the mountain you will have an attitude to go along with the hot legs and stunning shoes.

Yo, Isis, you gotta get some vasque hiking boots, or something similar. Just suck it up. The climb isn't that hard, and if you're feet are happy, you'll be happy. If you get high tops, you'll also get a little protection from snakes, scorpions, and thorns, but in my experience in AZ, if you take them off for any period of time, shake them out good before putting them back on.

None of this is an issue of fitness nor equipment. It's merely an issue of removing oneself from work and family long enough to do it.

Take your 3 years old with you, or not?
Once I took my then 5 years old boy and 3 years old girl up in an excursion, that I think is steeper and longer. They enjoyed the mountain and had the energy to get to the summit. The problem was the way down. My 3 years old girl just couldn't stay awake and I had to carry her like 2 km, in the sun, without water, sweating like a horse. So better take Mr. Isis with you too, because no Glorious Goddess shall have that burden. That's the job of macho, strong, profanity prone males, that later collapse at home.

Some of my earliest memories are of Dad carrying me back from somewhere we'd hiked. They are very warm, comforting memories. For me. I never asked how Dad remembered those days.
