A blast from the past

When I was growing up, dinosaurs were almost always on television for one reason or another. From movies to commercials, from cartoons to documentaries, there was always some ancient creature on the screen. Among the panoply of prehistoric programming the documentaries featuring Eric Boardman and Gary Owens were among the ones I remember most fondly, and I just happened to stumble across a few of the old shows on YouTube. Here's one from a series the two hosted, "More Dinosaurs," that was one of my favorites (although the ending gave me nightmares);

I remember getting "More Dinosaurs" from the video collection of the county library, and watching it over and over again during one of my many "dino summers" growing up. The crude animation of William Stout's dino art always stuck with me. I never did get a chance to see any of the other videos in this series, as the then-brand-new video section at the small county library was quite limited in selection (and the corner video store even moreso).

I remember that documentary show alluded to at the end of the last Youtube clip, the one where the mustached guy turned into a dinosaur. It was freaky, but now I envy him. Sure, I would have had the intellectual rigor of a sparrow, but otherwise it would be awesome as hell. ROAAAAAAR!

Holy crap! I thought I was the only one who remembered Eric and Gary. Suppose that was presumptuous... The other videos are just as cheesy as this, but they still serve as great entertainment for kids.
I distinctly remember being unable to watch the end with the T. rex as well...

Anyone else remember the one where they showed creatures from the book After Man? That giant animatronic bat freaked me out...
