Nice shot. However, I just got back from 2 weeks in Africa and saw tons of true Antelope (http://web.mac.com/freedom4/Doms_Travel_Site/Africa/Africa.html), but have never seen a live Pronghorn. However, Pronghorn aren't true Antelope. It's a great case of convergent evolution and would make an interesting post (hint, hint!).

I have only seen a live proghorn once, in Montana, running alongside our car... I see this and think of Stolzenburg's "Where the Wild Things Were" and wonder about Pleistocene rewilding...

I'm always mildly amused at how few of my eastern friends (I live in DC) have even heard of pronghorn - the fastest land mammal in the Americas - even though they can probably name more than a dozen species off the African savanna. In Wyoming, we eat them.

Heck, the second fastest land animal now alive, and with a decent endurance. So it aint a real antelope, still has the bunch in Africa beat all hollow when it comes to making tracks.
