Intelligent Design Creationists: Still Liars

Posted on: September 27, 2007 5:30 PM, by Mike

And, thankfully, the NY Times' Cornelia Dean calls the intelligent design creationists out on it:

There is no credible scientific challenge to the theory of evolution as an explanation for the complexity and diversity of life on earth. And while individual scientists may embrace religious faith, the scientific enterprise looks to nature to answer questions about nature. As scientists at Iowa State University put it last year, supernatural explanations are "not within the scope or abilities of science."

It's about time this is stated more forthrightly. One section of the article piqued my interest enough to go to the movie's blog and dig up this gem:

How about an economic theory based instead of on observation of markets and causal relationships, but rather one espousing it's at the whim of a monetary fairy.

Heh. And with that, I leave you with this blogger's image of what the Monetary Fairy looks like:

I'm not Chevy Chase, and you're not either

I hate that name... intelligent design. Assuming that the people that thought it up was ever intelligent. Rather intelligent design, they should just stick with their God. It's like they came up with the system of intelligent design to cope with the theory of evolution. That is a move that seems soooo weak in my eyes. By making up this intelligent design... these people are but a couple more steps away from altering the core beliefs of their faith in adjustment to 2007 and beyond. If we are ever visited by aliens... I bet you they will find a way to pen them in. They are a bunch of scared people that are unable to connect with reality. I really have no tolerance with them. They cant even make up their minds. People that believe in God, Jesus, Allah... whether they are catholic, christians, muslims, jews... they are all nuts.... If they cant agree with each other--even if they all believe in the same god...what the hell// why should others believe them and how to worship. Instead of putting so much money in churches and mosques and temples... they should all just help the poor and the unfortunates. May those people be moved by compassion and love... not the threat of eternity in hell. what are we still 5 years old? If you ask me... if they spend more time doing good than talking and fighting... The world would be a more wonderful place to live in.

Singh -

Just what the hell does your comment have to do with the liars who are peddling this piece of crap ID propaganda film?

It will be interesting in the released film whether the interviews were maliciously edited. Video quotemining.

Assuming for the moment they're not that stupid (I know, quite a leap), we should let them reap the results of their silliness. Leave them alone and let the media and public see through their agenda.

Atheists are liars who talk about objectivity while ranting about how superior they are to theists intellectually and morally.

What they lie about is SCIENCE; claiming to promote it while really using it as a front to further their own agendas...a la PZ Myers, Dawkins and Harris.

oh my singh. you really do have a delusional streak going there, doncha now! you need to stop, take a deep breathe and get objective. step back and look at the earth as a whole. consider it's 5 billion year history. take a look around at the galaxy it is in and then consider the visible neighborhood. consider 10 to the 31st or so bacteriophages. otherwise you are going to be waiting for that text message from jesus for the rest of you life. what a pity to waste part of your life on a pipedream.

thought on the Grimms v. Disney style? The Grimms tales were hand-me-down distillations, so probably closer to what most people want and need. The Disney versions were one person’s work with one aim in mind, so don’t have so much human ‘applicability’, as JRRT would have termed it.

You know if your statement had any facts to it, it'd be much more powerful.

But, sadly, it didn't. You just reassured us that all of you people are idiots.

You fail!
