Absolutely. I make this point with Truthers all the time, that the whole direction of everything they do is the opposite of what finding out the truth is. They approach the subject matter in much the same way a defense attorney does. A defense attorney takes a case and he sees six pieces of evidence that are going to convict his client, and he sets out to destroy those six pieces of evidence, irrelevant to the actual truth of the situation. That’s not to denigrate defense attorneys, but that’s what they do. It’s exactly the same thing that Truthers do. They just take the 9/11 Commission Report piece by piece, and they try to break down links in that evidentiary chain that compose the official story, but they never really try to find out what happened. They’re just trying to convince you that the official story couldn’t possibly be true. For instance, the stuff about Hani Hanjour–the hijacker who reportedly made that maneuver into the Pentagon. They’re really hopped up about the fact that he was a bad pilot and couldn’t have made that sophisticated maneuver. But they make absolutely no effort to tell you what actually did happen. They’re like, “Oh, it could have been a remote-controlled plane.” Offhandedly, they’ll say that. [Laughs.] Like that’s a very simple thing. It’s really weird.

The creationists’ “remote controlled plane” is the constant refrain that intelligent design requires more work or is a new theory.

I think when you use coarse language, you forfeit the argument. You also forfeit the argument when you classify those who disagree with you as morons. It’s tantamount to saying “Anyone who disagrees with me is a moron.” A person who says this is not arguing. A person who says this does not understand argument.

The fact is the 9/11 Truthers are the left wing equivilant of the right wing Bible thumping creationists- They are people completely detached from reality. Truthers are posioning the left with their lunacy, which is one reason I’m now a moderate. The radical left and the radical right are the same.
If anything, the 9/11 Truthers amuse me with the variety of insane variety of theories- Among the theories they hold are:

(1)Bombs were planted beforehand in both towers- with nobody noticing!

(2) No planes crashed on 9/11, and all the footage of the crashed were fakes. (my personal favorite)

(3) They claim no airplane debris was foind in Washington or PA- which is an outright lie, proven by photo evidence of wreckage
(4) They suggest the planes were operated by remeote control- (LOL)

The 9/11 Truther movement is a collection of anrachists, rabid anti semites and some people with serious mental illness. I have yet to see a Truth present concrete PROOF of a coverup. Such an undertaking would involve THOUSANDS of people- but no paper trail? No leaks? One Truther I spoke with suggested the were all shot. Funny how they have an answer for everything, but zero proof.

I suppose it’s proof that the further you go to the far fringes of the left or the right, they go full circle and become one in the same, the their bigotry and the rigidity of their thinking.

I think there are different types of Truthers- There are those who don’t give it much thought, and just don’t trust the government- and these people couldn’t be bothered to look at the evidence. these pople are just ignorant.

The ones that lack real jobs, and think of nothing BUT 9/11, and spend their days holding signs on street corners. They are no different than the Christian zealots that hold the ‘Accept Jesus or burn in hell’ signs.

These people are mentally ill, and thus totally detached from reality. They are not able to utilise logic in their thinking, which is why they cannot connect the dots to see the conspiracy theories are pure rubbish. Plus half these people live in fear on imagined shadow governments, men in black, and black hellicopers-
Unwarrented paranoia and fear of persecution are further examples of the signs of mental illness that permeates the ‘truther’ movement.

I studied materials engineering at the University of Michigan for about 8 years, earned two degrees and achieved the rank of Doctoral Candidate. A few years ago, US News rated that program #1 in the USA, MIT was ranked #5. I won awards for my research and most it is published in a journal of high quality or elsewhere.

The reason I have not been awarded my Ph.D. is that I accused University faculty of plagiarizing my work to get hundreds of thousands of dollars in US grant money. I spent about three years trying to solve this problem in State and Federal Courts before concluding that the US government is substantially corrupt and a fraud.

I have been carefully studying 9/11 for about 2 years now and find the idea that “al-Qaeda” did it to be ridiculous and absurd. A two year old playing with blocks has the ability to determine that World Trade Building 7 (a 47 story skyscraper, not hit by any airplane) did not collapse to rubble in 6.5 seconds because of a fire (as claimed by the National Institute of Standards & Technology). It irrefutably provable using nothing more that High School physics too (numerous videos show that World Trade Building 7 fell at exactly free fall speed for about 20 meters or six floors).

I recently contacted the civil engineering faculty at the University of Michigan, which is ranked about #8 nationally in that field. It was very clear that none of them believe the US governments’ stories about “thermal expansion” causing the total demolition of all three of the World Trade Center buildings either.

Architects & Engineers for 911 Truth (AE911Truth.og) has well over 500 professionals, including almost 100 licensed structural engineers. They are demanding a real, scientific investigation into the murder of some 3000 people.

I could go on here for pages… the pools of molten metal under the three World Trade Center buildings that NASA thermal imaging captured, the FBI’s bogus Anthrax investigation, Able Danger, NORAD.. but I am wondering is wrong with you people? How can you be so stupid as to not see through the obvious lies?

Oh.. that’s right, you have been brainwashed by living in a society controlled by television. Maybe it’s time to unplug…

You could argue endlessly about who did 9/11, how they did it, and how events that follow really happened (i.e. the falling of buildings, the missing bodies) and never to reach meaningful conclusion. Why? since you don’t have access to materials that could answer the questions. Why? because those had been promptly destroyed and/or hidden away.
Why were they destroyed? So you all can bicker till the sun goes nova and never know the truth.
