Mixing Memory

An entrée of Cognitive Science with an occasional side of whatever the hell else I want to talk about.

The lovely banners were created by Anton Oetll and Todd Hartman.

April is the cruelest month, breeding lilacs out of the dead land, mixing memory and desire, stirring dull roots with spring rain.

Oh Dear God! See the The Neurocritic, or Thomas at BRAINETHICS, or better still, look away and pretend this never happened.

I think my amygdala just showed more activity - was that delight or discust? My teeth showed, too, when I laughed.

I recently completed a full length book about memory and the human mind called Disco Hypnotic. Information about it can be found at DiscoHypnotic.com. Any comments would be most appreciated.

It's a publicity habit by now. 10 days ago they announced on salon.com (!) they found mirror neurons in humans. It's difficult to paste the link, but search 'iacoboni salon' in google and click on
"Mirror neurons, Altruism, Neuroscience | Salon News"
2nd para: "On Nov. 4, neuroscientists announced that mirror neurons had for the first time been directly identified in humans"

I couldn't find any reference to published work on this.
