Erythorbic Acid (President Bush have a less-carcinogenic hotdog with me)

Erythorbic acid is a common food additive:


It is a particularly good antioxidant, much like Vitamin C, and can be used to suppress the formation of carcinogenic nitrosamines in hot dogs and other cured meats.

Comments

One might use its nutritive optical isomer, Vitamin C, but that would be FDA felonious fortification. Ditto adding thiamine to cheap wine to prevent alcoholic neuropathy.
