I write articles on science, medicine, nature, culture and other matters for the New York Times Magazine, The Atlantic, Slate, National Geographic, Scientific American Mind, and other publications, and am working on my fourth book, The Orchid and the Dandelion, which expands on my recent December 2009 Atlantic article. In August 2010, I'll be moving to London for a year to work on the book. I'll also serve as a senior fellow at City University London's MA science journalism program.

Good. It's about damned time somebody killed socialism and embraced normalism. I hope this whole stupid thing fails miserably and better yet, I hope the criminal CRAP and trade bill fails even worse. If they want a healthcare bill that will help "the poor" in this country, then let me write it. I can get it written, voted on, and signed into law in less than 72 hours. It will be very bad for the insurance companies, but will be even worse for the government and evn worse than that for the big pharma companies and socialism will not be a part of it.
