Profile
The Evil Monkey has a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and is currently enjoying a bit of time off while waiting to hear about a new position. Come join this wayward neuroscientist as he struggles to find a career and get his life back in order. He is still not sure why he wrote this paragraph in the third person.

About the Evil Monkey
I received my Neuroscience Ph.D. in August, 2005. My graduate work focused on modeling menopause in monkeys, specifically the effects of ovarian hormone loss and estrogen replacement on neuroanatomy and cognition. After a nightmare postdoctoral stint in the DC/Metro area where my research focused on animal models of Alzheimer's Disease, I've relocated back to the Midwest and am currently job-hunting/enjoying some much-needed time off. I have expertise in primate neuroanatomy, immunohistochemistry, rodent and monkey behavioral testing, small animal surgery, and stereological analyses.
In other news I have the world's dumbest cat, I enjoy reading, light hiking and camping (although I don't get to do much of either), and am active in promoting science education and the teaching of evolution via involvement in groups such as The Alliance for Science, of which I am a former board member. I get my kicks (literally) by training in Muay Thai, blunt- and edged-weapon fighting styles from the southeast Asian archipelago such as Filipino Kali/Escrima and Indonesian Silat, and a blend of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Combat Submission Wrestling.
