About
I post on science and culture, science and politics, anything within the Earth sciences but especially issues surrounding climate change and surrounding natural hazards/disasters, space and NASA, internet and computer technology, energy, and a few other topics.
My career has run:
-
Geology undergrad (UC Davis -- where I was also a proud bus driver)
computer industry for a couple of years (UNIX sysadmin and GIS work)
Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography and Climatology (Lamont-Doherty / Columbia)
while in grad school, Public Policy Fellow at SIPA
AAAS Congressional Science Fellow (worked on the personal staff of a PNW Senator)
visiting prof. in the Geology Dept. at the University of Montana, Missoula
Visiting Fellow of CIRES, affiliated with the CSTPR
