Omni Brain

An exploration of the serious/fun/ridiculous - past/present/future of the brain and the science that loves it.

The Homunculus

steve_icon_medium.jpgThe Omnibrain is a psychology graduate student at an online university. He hopes that the three weeks and $29.95 that he is spending on his Ph.D. will get him a job at a Tier 1 research university. Do online universities have postdocs? Ok...just kidding, The Omnibrain is a real graduate student at a real school somewhere in the continental United States - or maybe Europe.

It's not the only brain lamp around, though. There's a Nuart Lamp with Unique Brain Globe for just $399.00. " This is a very nice Art Deco antique. It is a signed Nuart Lamp from the '20's-'30's. A nude figure sits on a pedestal while a striking brain globe is illuminated beside her." Randian!

Psychedelic lava lamp enthusiasts yielded even more brainy illumination. Head Shaped Lava Lamps. " Ok, you know how this guy does it right? He buys a real lava lamp and pours it into his custom container, being very careful not to disturb the lava mixture which will become cloudy if it is shaken. " Inventive!
