Omni Brain

An exploration of the serious/fun/ridiculous - past/present/future of the brain and the science that loves it.

The Homunculus

steve_icon_medium.jpgThe Omnibrain is a psychology graduate student at an online university. He hopes that the three weeks and $29.95 that he is spending on his Ph.D. will get him a job at a Tier 1 research university. Do online universities have postdocs? Ok...just kidding, The Omnibrain is a real graduate student at a real school somewhere in the continental United States - or maybe Europe.

My Funny Valentine

Valentine's Day weirdorama! First, an animated .gif you could send to someone you fancy:

I lose my mind

Below the fold is a second animated .gif (not safe for work) to send to, uh, whoever you know with sex on the brain.

But then - maybe you hate Valentines Day with its cheesy hearts and roses (and animated .gifs) reminding you there is nobody to send them to. Fed up with seeing happy couples while you're bitter and lonely, you're parked in front of your computer with no date, as usual. In that case, here's humour so dark it could consume the sun, nevermind a bunch of sappy lovers, in an animated video by the very strange and very talented David Firth. Watch A Cartoon For Valentine's Day (NSFW).

Thanks Psamathos the Thaumaturge for sending us this .gif!
