Yes... you heard me right.
Low to moderate blood alcohol levels improve the chance of survival for people brought into emergency rooms with traumatic brain injuries, a Canadian study finds. The death rate among the 1,158 patients in the study was 24 percent lower for those with moderate blood alcohol levels than those with no alcohol in their blood. But the death rate for those with high levels was 73 percent higher than for those with no blood alcohol.
My logic is flawless! clearly....
Ok ok... I'm being silly ;)
Yes yes... I know it's a serious topic....
Ohh.. and if you want to read about the research check it out here.

Drunk driving in America is common and it is very dangerous and not a laughing matter because it can destroy innocent lives. And life is a very priceless thing to waste.

Not particularly funny. I lost my youngest brother to a drunk driver, who caused him traumatic brain injury. Yeah, nothing like sitting and watching your brother progressively shut down one function after another...your only consolation being that the drunk who did this to him died sooner. Ha ha effing whee.

*sigh* It's just hard for me to find humor in the entire subject, really. I still miss my brother fiercely, he was my favorite sibling as well as the one I was closest to.
The "if you have a car accident you should be drunk" headline is...no, I just can't find it funny, I'm afraid. More tragic, or misplaced.
I'm quite glad the researchers included
...
Okonkwo reiterated the warning about drinking and driving. "Having a modest amount may be beneficial should you have a brain injury, but having no alcohol at all in the system greatly reduces the chance that you will have a brain injury in the first place," he said.

Yes, drunk driving is horrible and dangerous, but it was a funny headline, and no one should take it personally or seriously. No one is going to read it and drive drunk because of it.
I'm sorry that people have lost family members to drunk driving, but let's not attack Steve for making a harmless (and witty) headline.

"Witty" is entirely a matter of opinion, and in my opinion it isn't. And as for "attacking Steve" -- who? Where? If saying "I don't think this is funny" and saying why is an attack, then you (or someone) needs to grow a thicker skin.
