I knew it all along

Phil has a live one: a woman who mangles digital images with Photoshop filters to determine if they are lizardoid aliens. Foolish earthling. Everyone knows Phil is from Zeta Reticuli.

Along similar lines, I once had someone cast a detailed horoscope for me and send it along…apparently, I am one of the most evil baby-raping SOBs on the planet, and the only thing preventing me from oppressing and enslaving and destroying everyone is an excess of sloth and stupidity. These kooks—they say the obvious and pretend it is insight.

For a LizardAlienBeastie type Phil is a very cool guy. I met him at the Australian Skeptics conference and a Australian Museum talk 2004 in Sydney. His 'Moon Hoax' and 'Faces on Mars' lectures are awesome and worth seeing if ever the chance happens. Went out for dinner afterwards, pizza and wine, no insects eaten (that i saw). He liked my tattoo and signed his book for me...not that i'm a groupie or anything...really..honest.

I've driven your image( that small one on the left of your profile ) through photoshop too,
Solarize=>GlowingEdges=>Invert=>HueSaturation. It looked like a protist through a very bad microscope... or,like the picture just below..So, I'd guess, that this is your true appearance, and the upper one is just a mimicry... :-)

OMG, you know what this reminds me of? Dave Peters! What happened to his awesome pterosaur website?

Which is the obvious part, PZ? Your wish to enslave and destroy? Or that sloth part? (Thank goodness you're too busy with teaching and blogging to have any time left over for that enslavement stuff. Perhaps you'll have to delegate that to your minions.)

Apparently his host went bankrupt and he hasn't had much of a chance to put a new site up.

His interpretations were absolutely ridiculous and looked more like some sorts of deep-sea fishes but the photos he had there were nice.

A few years back, Keith Cowing of nasawatch.com myself and a few others used to have fun on the msnbc spcae message boards arguing with a guy who did the same thing to prove NASA was hiding evidence of massive alien structures on the moon and mars.

The moron swore he used "special techniques" to enhance the photos, but all he was doing was using the photoshop "Sharpen edges" command to enhance the edges of pixels in low-res photos until (amazingly!) squarish edges started to appear.

Presto! Alien structures.

The Bad Astronomer is from Zeta Reticuli? Does that mean he's in telepathic communication with Nancy Lieder?

I thought someone was feeding her lies to make her look bad - Phil is indeed a fiendish man. Lizard man. Thing.

Um, maybe I'm wrong, but before you could even begin to oppress, enslave and destroy, wouldn't you first have to ensnare?

Just askin'.

I'm thinking of starting with the "destroy" part. It makes the oppress, enslave, and ensnare stuff redundant and spares me some effort.

I ran Phil's picture through those same filters, then did a Gaussian Blur at 250 rads, and got nothing. =(

One of those photoshopped images of a woman with fishnet stockings is really cool. It's an object d' Art.
