Wait a minute.
I thought those cuckoobirds were all fired up on keeping obscene and sacrilegious material away from kids.
No matter. My God can beat up their God.
Theirs sat around all week saying "Let there be..." until HE-of-the-Mighty-Penis (in all seriousness, I saw a video clip last week of a well-known real live TV preacher saying that God is represented by all things that are shaped like a penis - you can't make stuff like this up!) got bored outta HIS Mighty Manly Masculine Well-Hung (do you blame all those women in Greek mythology for getting it on with various gods?) Gourd and had to go take a Mental Health Day.
Mine is an expert on chaos theory. (Wotthebleep, He/She/They/It invented it.) He/She/They/It sets up the initial conditions, watches how things develop, and says, "Wow, that is so Me-damned cool!"
Just two brass farthings' worth from someone who's [1] punchy from having had less than 4 hours' sleep last night and [2] doing a little dance of perverse glee after having just put another nail in Santorum's coffin. A little(?!) irreverent snarkiness now and then is good for the soul.........

I'm rather surprised you gave free publicity to the blog with the Something Awful photoshopped animals as some "snap!" to evolution. When I saw "0 comments" on almost every post on that page, I figured it would be better if everyone just ignored that page and let it rot.
I'm even more surprised at what constitutes "reasonable" to some people.

Yeah, it takes a while for comments to show up. I had an exchange with her over the Dikika find and got frustrated at how long it took for comments and replies to show up.

FTK, one can't hate something that does not exist. People around here just get very irked at the people who believe that what does not exist, does, and then go off making decisions that affect others based off of their delusions. Quite simple.
What would be really interesting is of you could answer some of those questions posed way back when...or are you still discussing them with your husband?

of course, all of the evangelicals who claim atheists "hate" god (a complete nonsequitor, since by definition, it would be like someone hating purple unicorns), are really just dispacing onto their god the obvious hatred we DO have of THEM.
yet another in a long line of classic psychological defense mechanisms constructed by these folks.
also common to fundiebots: denial, and especially proejection.
these people, singlehandedly, are resurrecting a lot of Freud's hypotheses.

I kind of figure that creationists are not brave enough to examine their own religious beliefs, so in order to attempt to preserve their beliefs, they attack anything which may conflict with their religious dogma.
Anyone who wants a "free creationist troll" is welcome at my blog. "Anonymous - daniel" has been posting there for a while, and seems quite immune to logic and reason.
So wander on over anyone who wants the entertainment or the aggravation.

Actually, the defense mechanisms are one of the few bits of Freud's work that haven't been invalidated. As high-level descriptions of human cognitive strategies, they're spot-on.

Dude, you are way off about me. If you'd take just a wee bit of time reading through my blog entries, you'd find that I have spend years examining my faith, other religious beliefs and many aspects of science.
My question to you would be -- do YOU examine anything that conflicts with YOUR beliefs.

Oh, and don't worry that an interest in atheists will turn you into an atheist. Reading about atheists did not make an atheist out of me - it was my strong interest in religion that made me an atheist.

I've never had that concern. I follow the evidence wherever it leads. In fact, the more I read books and link written by atheists, the stronger my Christian faith becomes. Kinda weird. I certainly hope that you have considered the evidence for various religious beliefs.
That would mean you'd have to read the Bible and religious apologetic books written by those who hold the views you oppose, rather than reading book by those who agree with your viewpoint who are merely giving opinions of something they may not have a good understanding of.
Visit me....seriously. I love discussing this stuff.
