Random Quote
A human being is part of a whole, called by us the "Universe," a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest—a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

I still want to know whether anyone has worked out where the Cephalopodmas year zero comes. Is it behind us or ahead of us? Given the concurrency of panto season, I have a bad feeling it really has to be "behind you!". Also, are there enough past sceptics, atheists, scientists, free-thinkers or similar dates for a whole calendar (and enough current pin-ups, pinnipeds or whatever for the other aspect of a calendar).
So far I haven't spotted any invading cephalopods though, just evil invading ladybirds. I have a pot here with a lot of them in it.

Update on the "Mixing Memory" kerfluffle:
Chris is now claiming that it's not unusual for a cognitive psychologist to question whether the study of the mind is within the bounds of science.
