With subjects from simians to coelacanths and titles like "Heaven must be boring" and "Think for yourself", I may just have to pick up this George Hrab CD. Listen for yourself!

Are you familiar with Ween's Mollusk album?
Seems like it would be right up your tentacles ;-)

PS. If you do not yet have the Lio collection you mentioned the other day, you really should. I'm *certain* that there are those of us who would happily gift you with it.

I want this album! Thanks a lot for pointing it out. I mean it. Now I have to shell out more money.

Ween's Mollusk album? I seriously thought I was the only one who liked that. *Hums "Have you ever seen a whale with a polka dot tail...." *

Remember the line from the song Heaven by THeads: Heaven is a place where nothing ever happens...?

My review for this album is at that link, so all I can do is reiterate that this is a great disc. George is so cool, he acknowledged my review at my blog. Talented and a skeptic--what more can you ask for?

And as an aside, CD Baby is a fantastic online retailer. They are reasonably-priced, prompt, and have incredible customer service. I've ordered both Hrab's discs and those Canadian Cthulu-rockers, The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets (whom you should also check out, PZ), from them, and had just wonderful service every step of the way.

I've seen George Hrab play a number of times, with the Philly Funk Authority and also with his own band. I'm not sure how far either band goes touring-wise, but they both put on a great show. If you get the chance to see them do it.
