Solidarity?
I'm pretty sure he is threatening the cephalopod girl in Santa Monica who messed up the World-Takeover-Schedule.

Looks kind of like Thrakazog from The Tick.

#7

The Tick?

I am MIGHTY! I have a glow you cannot see. I have a heart as big as the moon, as warm as bathwater. We're superheroes, man! We don't have time to be charming! The boots of evil were made for walking. We're watching the big picture, friend. We know the score. We are a public service, not glamour boys! Not captains of industry! Not makers of... things! Keep your vulgar monies. We are a justice sandwich, no toppings necessary! Living rooms of America, do you catch my drift? Do... you... dig?

What's that it's got in its hand?

Looks threatening to me!

I am surprised so many of our leaders are not taking this threat seriously.

What moves has the UN made to address this?

#9

Posted by: Kate | February 27, 2009 8:32 AM

Well, Ramases, the UN has decided that the cephalopod can only say nice things about religion.

I don't know. I just don't know.
Kinda looks like...
Cephalopod pretending to be an elephant to me.
You know how those cephalopods are.

That rainbow smile sort of takes the strength out of its salute. Can't look very tough with a clown's grin.

Isn't the "smile" his/her eye?

#23

Posted by: Kate | February 27, 2009 12:38 PM

@#22

Yep. That's an eye. You can tell by the "w" shaped pupil.

What do we want?
Crustaceans!
When do we want 'em?
Pretty much all the time!

The Mollusks! United! Will never be defeated!

etc.

It looks like a cephalopod version of flipping us the bird. Or would that be flipping the exocoetida?

PZ, you have coolest collection of Cephalopods. I am heading out to British Columbia this summer to hunt (aka photograph) the Giant Pacific Octopus. If I get lucky I'll send you a copy of the pictures for you and other to enjoy.

@#19: Awesome Day of the Tentacle reference! It took me a minute to recognize it, but the raised fist is uncannily similar to Purple Tentacle. http://www.ugo.com/channels/games/features/evilgenius/top11/purpletentacle_1_th.jpg
