Enough of acting the infant who has been told so often how he was found under a cabbage that in the end he remembers the exact spot in the garden and the kind of life he led there before joining the family circle.

Sure, he looks pretty now, but wait 'til later tonight when he and the rest of his pimped-out cuttlefriends start cruisin' Main Reef, mantles pumpin' bass, pickin' fights and shouting lewdnesses at the 'podes. And reef racing isn't just in those Fin Diesel movies; these punks are taking over our reefs and lagoons.

Frankly, I'm ashamed of PZ, giving a punk like this exposure because he looks 'cool'. Totally irresponsible.

He's got that Tony Soprano look about the eyes.

What a gorgeously insolent expression! He knows how beautiful he is; he reckons he's doing us all a favour by letting us look at him.

I want one as a necklace! That would be cruel though. I will settle for a tattoo perhaps...

The Southern Dumpling Squid, if the Wikipedia's redirect for Euprymna tasmanica can be trusted.

Beautiful critter.

Anthropomorphizing of course, but the expression I see on this little cutie reminds of just about every girl I ever walked up to in a bar: "What the hell do you want?". It's the eyes.

Speaking of "jewels", can I make a request for a fossil Friday Cephalopod? Like, maybe a nice ammolite shell or a pyritized ammonite?

It is certainly interesting for me to read this post. Thanks for it. I like such themes and everything that is connected to this matter. I definitely want to read a bit more on that blog soon.
