I will not attack your doctrines nor your creeds if they accord liberty to me. If they hold thought to be dangerous - if they aver that doubt is a crime, then I attack them one and all, because they enslave the minds of men.

Hum, no it doesn't look like you, your beard is faaaar more stylish.

No, I prefer the cuddly version.

#4

For a stylized drawing of Mr Davey Jones, I'd have to disagree - it looks very much like you.

#5

Posted by: Andreas Johansson | November 26, 2009 3:22 PM

I was about to say it and PZ have one thing in common - cuddliness.

I saw that one, and some other beautiful digital artwork here today.

Very cute! It looks as though it might have a little pet crab on its hat too.

The other similarity is the raised middle finger. Er... tentacle.

Yeah, sasqwatch, but I don't think PeeZed is that limp. He's not that old after all.

heh.. now that I see the claw for the right hand, I think a good caption would be:
"Ya, I've got your 'cracker' over here!"

I dunno, put a pair of glasses on it and I think you'll find the likeness to be frightening.

PZ is much taller than that.

Except that it looks exactly like you.

Interesting. I didn't like the film and felt that Bill Nye (who's usually awesome) took us on a distracting tour of the UK with his inconsistent accent - but that's brilliant work.

I really want a figurine of that guy. It would be awesome.

*looks at PZ's picture on the left*

Uh, PZ... I think you accidentally typed the "nothing" in the title.

Looks like it was drawn by a computer program.

"Looks like it was drawn by a computer program."

Click on the picture and see the "making of" slideshow below. This is a digital painting done using Photoshop. Very hard to do well, believe me.

That artist has some serious skillz.

This is so cool! I definitely want one.

Wowbagger, I think you mean Bill Nighy. Bill Nye has never, to my knowledge, taken anyone on a distracting tour of the UK, although I haven't seen all of his television work to date.

the new World of Warcraft race . . . Squid-Goblins!

DLC, #23. Iunno, the Draenei already have squidbeards!

And in reply to #21. Now I want to see Bill Nighy vs Bill Nye. TWO MEN ENTER, ONE MAN LEAVES. Both are armed with a cephalopod of their choice.

You are entirely correct. Hilariously enough, I don't actually know who Bill Nye is apart from what I've learned about him from coming here - he's never (to my knowledge) been on Australian television. I'm not sure why I substituted that spelling for the appropriate one. Some kind of Old One inspired madness no doubt.

Finback : So it's a half gnome-half -draenei ?
perhaps a transitional form . . .

This looks like what in Japanese Anime is referred to as "Chibi" style...so this is a Chibi Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean...(distorted, child-like version of the regular character).

Hello Mr. Myers I'm a big fan of your blog, but i got to say that i'm a bigger fan of Tiago Hoisel (and i think that it would be a nice gesture to name the author. I know the image is linked, but citing the source is important)

I think that there's great potential in art to combat religious nuts, I wonder why there is no book illustrated like this:

http://motleypete.cgsociety.org/gallery/828709/

anyway, keep up the good work!
