National Geographic has a whole page of miscellaneous videos featuring bats having dinner. I like bats, but perversely preferred this one of assassin bugs turning the tables on them.

Assassin bug vs bat? Now that's entertainment! Next up: grasshopper vs rhino.

Political metaphor:
The bats are a bloodsucking John McCain. Assassin bugs are Sarah Palin.
PZ, I love you. Really, I do. And I love bats. And squids and such. But could you please, PLEASE stop posting vids that are narrated by this cheesy Casey Kasem guy?
I now always hit 'mute' before watching Nat Geo videos.
Gross! You've gone one bat too far, PZ. :)
Assassin bugs are the vilest most disgusting insects in the entire section of the spiral galaxy.
Yeeccchhhh!
"...like a gasoline tanker truck filing with fuel..."
Funny metaphor, but I have never seen a gasoline tanker truck pull up to a sleeping anything and then puncturing to get fuel.
boygenius, thanks, I was afraid it was only me.
I can handle the squids, assassin bugs, vampires, and what-have-you, but Mr. Kasem just makes me squirm.
Other than that, thanks PZ, for all your efforts and giving people a place to voice their opinions.
You are indeed perverse, PZ, to take pleasure in those assassin bugs stalking that cute little baby vampire bat...
So does it kill it?? It ended just as it was getting good.
The death of a thousand cuts.
Neat video, but in situations like this, I can't help myself: my sympathies are with the mammal. The cute, baby, fuzzy mammal.

Except maybe Donohue and Robertson etc.
