Random Quote

Religion is still parasitic in the interstices of our knowledge which have not yet been filled. Like bed-bugs in the cracks of walls and furniture, miracles lurk in the lacunae of science. The scientist plasters up these cracks in our knowledge; the more militant Rationalist swats the bugs in the open. Both have their proper sphere and they should realize that they are allies.

I love orchids for the reason that they are just so diverse in shape and form.

Holy paraidolia, batman. I honestly don't see how they resemble vampires at all, but I definitely see the monkeys.

And you got it: Monkey vampires! More fun than a barrel of Edwards!

I think the "Dracula" part comes from their elaborate "collars".

Now I'm reminded of the flying monkeys in The Wizard of Oz.

Ohhhh! It's Jesus!

I see Jesus in the flower!

It's a miracle!

Oh wait, it's not Jesus at all.

Shucks...

Monkey? Vampire? It's both! Monkey skulls look like little vampire skulls.

Do they fling poo? Ghost turds are also known as dust bunnies. What are vampire turds like? Probably not so fluffy....

They remind me of Cassandra--the 'bitchy trampoline' from the first season of 1990's Dr. Who.

OOh gosh, after you gave Bee Orchids the spot of honour a few weeks ago I really wanted to lobby for these as well, and then of course forgot about it.
But you got there first, woohoo.

And yay for orchids.

As Kundun would tell you, these were monkeys who did something naughty and were reincarnated back to plants. Shame on these monkeys. Shonkeys.

Dracula Monkey? Hehehe. I saw the faces of a species of Tarsius. Come to think of it, all the species of monkey I can recall have rather menacing fangs - are all monkeys draculae?

Hardly the 90's; the episode with Cassandra was first broadcast on April 2, 2005. According to the Wiki article you linked to.

Aaawwww . . . just look at them. They look just like little guys! Not even dangerous, no fangs!

Their countenance is more like desperate concern leavened by insufficient resources. Sort of a caricature of a simian and by extension, a caricature of ourselves. I rather like the sentiment that is implicit in this instance of seeing faces where there are none, having felt exactly the way this flower looks at least forty-leven times.

I wonder, how does the flower actually feel?

Special secret vampire tip: to reveal the undead alter-egos of the monkeys, you will need to look at the photo the other way up - the fangs and bleeding eyeballs will instantly appear.

Always look at pareidolia from as many directions as possible - the face of Jesus in a pizza is often actually a chicken with a moustache running for a bus, with the accompanying ramifications for world religion. Or something.

@Nick of Gisburne:

I don't know why, but whenever I see these 'miracles' of Jesus or The Virgin Mary appearing on food items, I only see Tommy Chong and Vanessa Redgrave. People only see what they want to see. I have no idea why I want to see Tommy Chong or Vanessa Redgrave, but apparently my mind thinks they're important and I should see them appear on my nachos and burnt toast. Maybe they owe me money and I've forgotten.

All I can say is "You're welcome, John." So am I. Here is where we find ourselves and get caught up in minor whimsy about having automatic intuition. Shucks . . . I ain't no good at it neither . . . trustin' as I do to mutual honesty which is not hardly a natural state but impedes upon our druthers from time time.

Happy trails.
