Brother Sam Singleton, the only honest evangelist

Category: Godlessness
Posted on: July 17, 2010 7:21 PM, by PZ Myers

I just mentioned that Brother Sam Singleton was going to be at Skepticon 3, and now I learn that his tour manager and enabler Cari has had a serious accident just as they were about to go on tour. If you weren't aware of Brother Sam before, here's a sample:

Apparently, atheist evangelist is not a high-paying position, because they have no health insurance. Pay a visit to Brother Sam's website, and his store, and (hint, hint) toss something in the collection plate, if you can spare it.

The lack of universal health-care in the USA is another example (along with an infantile obsession with delusional faiths) of where that once-great country is bizarrely in the club of backward 3rd world states.
Here Sam has been unfortunate enough to have met the two main US retardations at once.
I wish Cari well.

Amazing how "honest" and "high-paying" so rarely go together, isn't it?

I can't see the explanation of what has happened since I was kicked off of Facebook because someone complained about my name the other day... so can someone cut and paste?

Thanks, PZ. Brother Sam has given a lot of smiles and laughter, and it's time we pay him back for that.

Jafa, she fell out of a 60 foot tree, sustaining multiple injuries, some pretty serious.

Paypal identifies donations as "Love offerings". Heh. Flashbacks...

I threw my coupla bucks in the (electronic) plate anyway.

Donation made. Seeing as we all know what a pitiful waste praying is, lets try and make sure medical costs don't become too much of a burden. $25 each from even 1/4 of the pharyngulites would make a huge difference.

@Numenaster - worth it just to have SALVATION appear on your credit card bill. :)

I know a lot about health insurance and a fair amount about options if you can't pay medical bills. If anyone thinks they might like to get a bit of free advice send me a link or something on how I can get a hold of them. I don't do facebook. Too old school I guess. :)

May be saying good things, but his whole schtick doesn't really appeal to me. I'd much rather listen to Carlin!

Health care (transformation) is one of the best issues this current administration has done thus far. With this change individuals will have the opportunity to seek professional and quality health care services. Who would want to return to the days of the horse and buggy, b/w tv sets, manual typewriters, pac man, you get the point? That's about how old the health care system was in the USA. Each day the news is filled with social tragedies in which lives are taken at the hands of known acquaintences and/or family members. Our society is stricken with the institutions of white collar crime permeating throughout this great nation and greed which tends to strike at the very fabric of our country. If you are looking for affordable health insurance check out http://bit.ly/chE6zp . I hope everyone will soon recognize and use the resources made by this transformation to seek professional medical attention as the need arises rather than turning to illegal and criminal activities to resolve their issues.

The problem is with the source material, not brother Sam.

He's got a great delivery.

Sounds like a lot of suffering behind his humor. I like him a lot. Hope he comes to my area soon.

god damn!

I PM'd Sam on Facebook and he assured me they would be here in November. I certainly hope so. I hope Cari is better enough by then to travel. I feel so sorry that she had this accident and hope she gets better soon.
