It's a ferocious 3-headed dog, but still…anyway, the Molly award for the month of June goes to Cerberus, for her excellent work in guarding the gates of Hell.

Ha! Finally. Well deserved Cerberus! You work hard.
...
And now my nominations.
ARIDS for being the most patient OM NOM ever.
Aquaria for being a badass who lets nothing by.
But it wouldn't be a Molly nomination if I didn't say:
WALTON.
Seriously. Because of what he's become of the last years and how nice that's been for the people who post here. Thoughtful, analytical, and at least apparently sincere on a variety of issues, could one ask for more?
Well, maybe more bacon... but I digress.

What? Aquaria doesn't have a Molly yet? WTF?
I vote Aquaria, for kickin' ass, taking names, and not giving the names back.
I also vote (early and often) for Walton. This is partly a pity vote for being beaten with bags of switches, but mostly a vote of sincere gratitude for his calm voice, rational and thoughtful posts, and outstanding taste in men and women.
And sincere congratulations to Cerberus!

Cerberus is who I want to be when I grow up. This establishes conclusively that maturity and age have a very very low correlation.
I vote Aquaria for her general awesomeness and for using the expression "fuck right off" on the homeschooling thread, which pretty much captured my sentiments but which my residual pearl-clutching won't allow me to say.
Also Walton for being the first Pharynguloid to enter my dream life, in an odd dream in which I was trapped as an observer in a teen comedy and Walton was one of the characters. (Fortunately that's all I recall of the dream, and it's not the weirdest Pharyngula-themed dream that I've heard described in the last 24 hours.) Also Walton for being totally awesome, coherent, and interesting.

Congratulations, Cerberus. You can hold your three heads high.
As I have for several months I'm nominating A_Ray_In_Dilbert_Space for general intelligence, good writing, and always being a bride's maid instead of a bride.
The second nomination goes to Aquaria for her insightful ways to tell people to fuck off.
This month I'm added a third nomination. Walton, the Special Dumpling of Awesome, deserves recognition for his intelligence, wit, honesty, and blossoming maturity. Also for getting a First Class degree from Luton University or the University of Westminster or some such establishment.

Hmm. I've always read that as being pronounced Care·bear·us and enjoyed the humour. It would seem that I've been mistaken all this time, at least according to the online English dictionaries. They all use a soft C resulting in Sir·burr·us or some such.
Any ancient(!) Greek experts here that can opine on the original pronunciation?

Congratulations, Cerberus! Please continue the awesome work - you're one of the most patient commenters we have.
I have to agree with others that Dymara should be nominated. She pulled out a tour-de-force of epic proportions that stood out as one of July's highlights, and I want to put the nom in now since I don't know how much she'll be commenting in the future.
The commenters who I think have earned rolling noms regardless of month are: ARIDS, Aquaria, Walton, Celtic_Evolution (where is that guy though?).
Honorable mentions also go to: Gyeong Hwa for some extraordinarily insightful pieces of wit and wisdom, nigelTheBold for the some of the most lucid and articulate writing ever, and Anubis Bloodsin The Third (formerly strangestbrew) for his unorthodox but giddily brilliant style!

I will say one thing. If you think I am not going to get it, then read my post again, please. If I have hurt you before then you did not understand me.
When I see posts on home school, I do not like it. I have seen products of home school. That is not good. It is rancid.
Also. I still would offer help to Doctor Myers for his book. But, if I am not welcome to it, OK. That is fine.

As for using the OM, back when I got the Molly, I noted that the other Mollies before me seemed to sport the initials for about 2-3 months, then gradually drop them. I chose to do the same.
Of course, that was back before we had to register. And now there doesn't seem to be any discernible rule-of-thumb re the OM -- Mollies are all over the board, in this as in everything. I think it's nice to use it for at least a month, though.

From what I've seen, the greek is Kerberos (in the Latin alphabet) so the "correct" pronunciation would have C like K and U like O.
Honestly, I mess up correct pronunciation myself and often end up self-hearing it as C like S and U like U despite knowing that's not "accurate".
