A priceless new email feature for gmail: Mail Goggles:
Sometimes I send messages I shouldn't send. Like the time I told that girl I had a crush on her over text message. Or the time I sent that late night email to my ex-girlfriend that we should get back together. Gmail can't always prevent you from sending messages you might later regret, but today we're launching a new Labs feature I wrote called Mail Goggles which may help.Now if only Google would add a similar feature for those hitting the reply to all button (instead they apparently have a function to make it the default reply option. Doh!)When you enable Mail Goggles, it will check that you're really sure you want to send that late night Friday email. And what better way to check than by making you solve a few simple math problems after you click send to verify you're in the right state of mind?

I've been hoping for this: if i ever mention the word "attachment" in an email, or anything like it, then warn me if I don't actually have an attachment on the email. Drives my advisor nuts.

lol Kevin, that should be a pretty easy thing to put in a mail programme. I also send and receive numerous emails without the promised attachment.

This has been in KMail for decades. Alas, since my .sig contains the word "attachments", I get this message with each mail I send. Great. (Actually, I'm just too lazy to configure it properly. Well...)

Probably not helpful if you're using a "real" email account, but my netscape account asks me if I want to attach something if I send an email with "attachment" in it. Which gets really annoying when I'm replying to someone else's email...but the feature is there.

kevin: gmail has the attachment checking feature, which they call Forgotten Attachment Detector - it's in the Labs section right under the mail goggles.
