Irrationality?

Anyone seen any old men with canes yet?

Crisis per capita winner? Iceland. Will the last one leaving Reykjavík please tear up that recipe for Súrsaðir hrútspungar?

Let's blame Van Buren:

Hey now, let's not go blaming the New Yorker (that would be upstate New Yorker, not city boy) for the foolish moves of his predecessor from Tennessee. ;)

[Aside: did you know van Buren is the origin of the now ubiquitous term 'O.K.'?]

Blaming New Yorkers is all the rage right now. OK, blaming those in another east coast city is also popular.

Yes, but that other east coast city is really a southern city and very different.

And, besides, as I said, van Buren was not from NYC. He was from Kinderhook which is the 'K' in 'O.K.' (the 'O' is 'old').

Yeah well from the west coast, DC, New York (upstate, downstates, in the lady's chamber) all look the same. And kind of like Europe, what with all your little tiny states. :)

Dave,
My cane started to come out today. There's some valuations I haven't seen in my entire life. I'm hoping the fallout in the grain markets allows me to put on my big yearly grain spreads. I'm two weeks late in putting on my spreads.
