A song we (Steve, Elwyn, and ??) wrote while at Caltech. I write it down here because last night I struggled with reconstructing all the verses.

The Frosh Arrived (sung to the tune of "Cat's in the Cradle")

the frosh arrived just the other day
they came to Tech in the usual way
but there was work to do, grades were at stake
staying here was a big mistake
they were flicking for I knew it as I watched I'd say
you're going to be like me, frosh
you know you're going to be like me

and the math's on the table and the chem's on the floor
ain't got sleep in the past twenty four
when you coming out s'more? I don't know when
but will get together then, frosh
you know we'll have a good time then

I saw the frosh just the other day
he said to me, come on let's play
can you teach me broomball? I said not today
I got a lot of work he said...bummer
and as he walked away I just shook my head
you're going to be like me frosh,
you know you're going to be like me

and the math's on the table and the chem's on the floor
ain't got sleep in the past twenty four
when you coming out s'more I don't know when
but will get together then, frosh
you know we'll have a good time then

started E&M just the other day
so bitter now I just had to say
Frosh I'm proud of you can you flick for a while
he shook his head and he said with a smile
what I'd really like now is your CRC
give it to me won't you please
now, I WANT YOUR CRC (shouted)

and the math's on the table and the chem's on the floor
ain't got sleep in the past twenty four
when you coming out s'more I don't know when
but will get together then, frosh
you know we'll have a good time then

third terms ended, summers begun
I called the frosh just for fun
I said I'd like to see you if you have time
he said I'd love to s'more if I could find the time
but the SURF is a hassle I've got Math 2b
but it's sure nice talking to you s'more
it's sure nice talking to you
and as I hung up the phone it occurred to me,
he grown up just like me, yeah
BITTER just like me

and the math's on the table and the chem's on the floor
ain't got sleep in the past twenty four
when you coming out s'more I don't know when
but will get together then, frosh
you know we'll have a good time then
