Belated Baby Blogging 090608

Category: Steelykid!

We went down to visit Kate's parents on Wednesday, so I wasn't able to post the weekly bison-for-scale picture. I did get one, though, so here it is a few days late:

This also gives us a chance to show off her "Smart Cookie" onesie, which I picked up because it's a nice break from the frilly pink princessy crap that dominates the girl-baby clothing market. SteelyKid is adorably cute, to be sure, but that's not all she has to offer.

A different sense-of-scale option is below the fold:

This is the "airplane" carrying configuration, which sometimes helps quiet her down when she's a little colicky. As a bonus, it provides a great excuse to chase the dog around the house making airplane noises.

You take fun where you can find it.

Dude, you look like a giant in that picture.

Normally, that perspective would make one's head look small.

Hey! She's bigger than the Bison!

I have always called that the football carry, good for people with large hands.

Just a warning for the future - the pink frilly princess stuff continues to dominate the girl aisles even after they are past the onesie stage. Chasing the dog with airplane baby sounds like fun for the whole family!

There's also 'astronaut' training: holding her up toward the ceiling, on her back, letting her sag into a yoga-like pose. I don't know if SteelyKid would like that as much as my Cub does, but it's one thing that makes our little lass giggle up a storm.

MRW--thanks much for the link! Those are great! Mrs. MP is tickled, er, pink...

My deepest sympathies to Emmy.
