I could attempt to make a strained connection to the Fourth of July by making some analogy between a baby climbing stairs and the need for constant slow improvement in the national character, or some such. But really, it's just a cute baby picture being posted as filler.

Just a note: the lowest step in this picture is the fourth step up from the living room.

She redeveloped an interest in the stairs Thursday night (when this was taken), and has since been up them about 20 times. She still doesn't know how to go down steps, though, which is going to lead to trouble...
