Retrospectacle: A Neuroscience Blog

The trials, tribulations, and joys of a Neuroscience gradute student writing her thesis in the postmodern, post-Y2K world.

Profile

me%20and%20pep.jpg Shelley Batts is a Neuroscience PhD candidate at the University of Michigan. She studies hair cell regeneration in the cochlea, and is just embarking on that quixotic quest called 'thesis.' She lies awake at night pondering how science intersects with politics, culture, policy, money, medicine, and religion in an attempt to be more than just a niche scientist sitting in the oh-so-lovely ivory tower. Follow me and my parrot on the quest to get funded, get a PhD, and stay sane.

My Fibonacci Poems On Science Creative Quarterly

Category: Announcements
Posted on: October 30, 2006 2:43 PM, by Shelley Batts

More shameless self-promoting!

Go check out some of my poetry, based on the Fibonacci sequence, now published in the Science Creative Quarterly (SCQ)!

SCQ is an amalgam of science, creativity, spontaneity, beauty, and absurdity reflected in the written word, operated under the auspices of our very own David Ng of the World's Fair.

I've never heard of that before. Geeky and artsy - hard not to like!

Congrats on being published.

Nice. I like. Now I'll start using adult-sized sentences. I also had not run across Fibonacci poetry before (at least that I recall); it tweaks something in my largely unused geeky brain.

I will add my congrats on your being published. I'll also point out that this means you're taking over the world at a much faster pace than before: publishing in peer-reviewed scientific publications AND getting literature published, too.

Where would you like the Tribute sent?
