Minnow at the Science Blogging Conference

Category: Minnowblogging

Minnow's big adventure this weekend was attending the 2nd Annual NC Science Blogging Conference (and staying with one of my college roomies).

In the morning she went to the discussion on ethics in science blogging, lead by the incomparable Janet Stemwedel. Afterwards she had a little bonus discussion.

Then Minnow participated in a panel on Gender and Race in Science: Online and Offline, moderated by the excellent Zuska. Other panel participants were Karen Ventii of Science to Life and Pat Campbell of Fairer Science.

After a great box lunch, Minnow went to Dave Munger's session on Building Interactivity into your Blog. But despite the title, she fell asleep (sorry, Dave). So no pictures were taken.

The day concluded with a great panel discussion on Framing Science (with panelists Jennifer Jacquet, Chris Mooney, and Sheril Kirshenbaum) and an inspiring talk by Jennifer Oulette of Cocktail Party Physics. And what's even more exciting is that all day long snow was falling and the North Carolinians were freaking out about the weather. Fortunately, it was only a short drive back to our friends and our nice warm beds.

Minnow thought it was great to meet so many new people and is already looking forward to next year.

Minnow is unbelievably adorable! Quite an accomplished blogger (even a bloggy celebrity), the presence at the Conference was a natural fit and Minnow's great timing in voicing repostes to other participants was delightful. Oh, and of course, so nice to see you, too ;-)

I don't think it's possible for little Minnow to be any cuter.

Meeting Minnow was great as was listening to her mom. Thanks ScienceWoman for your thoughts and ideas.
