Astrodyke reminds us that we're mid-Perseid meteor shower these days. I actually woke up at 3:30 am this morning (NOT on purpose) and thought about going to look, but I was too dog tired from the move out (move in is tomorrow).
Did you see anything?
Apparently we have another chance tonight! Yay! (Zzzzz....)

I'd have loved to have watched the Perseids, but here in upstate NY we were on the tail end of yet another 2 inches of rain last night.

I saw 8 meteors between 2:30 and 3:30 last night! I'm lucky to live in a city with light restrictions - we just climbed on the roof for a good view.

I was like you, woke up around 3am ( I had a computer run to check upon ), and spent about a minute looking up from the back porch. Only spent about a minute without seeing any, with was enough to convince me, that if we were having a particularly good shower (i.e. several times greater than usual I probably would have seen at least one). This is usually my test, I have seen the roughly one a minute sort of showers, but wouldn't want to miss a once every few seconds one.

Nary a spark, but it was late and the sky was starting to get light in the east. I should have drunk a big glass of water before I went to bed. rats. rb
