Race for the Cure

Very early one Saturday morning in October, Minnow and I will be congregating in the heart of Mystery City with thousands of other women and men, girls and boys. And many of us will be wearing pink. Then we'll run or walk five kilometers in honor of the 1 in 8 women who will be affected by breast cancer over the course of their lifetimes.

This issue has taken on a lot more personal dimension for me in the past few years, as my mom fought uterine cancer, an aunt continues to battle breast cancer, and a lovely neighbor BandanaLady is struggling with chemotherapy following a masectomy. My neighbors and I (and our children) are banding together to walk with BandanaLady in Mystery City's Race for a Cure. I hope that your lives and loved ones will not be touched by cancer -- but the prognosis for us all can only get better if we raise awareness and support research.

If you'd like to support Minnow and I as we race for a cure, send me an email at science dot woman at g m a i l, and I'll send you a link to our race pages.

That's very noble of you and Minnow! I will shoot you an email in a while.
