alice.jpgOMG, has it been a busy few days. I'm just starting the second shift of working today, after an 8-5:30 day of back-to-back meetings, and tomorrow will be all day in a workshop, but I need to share some updatey things, including a belated announcement for the October Scientiae (yay!) below the fold.

  • Jen at Deliberate Pixel has had a tough month, but is going to pull out all the stops to get us an October Scientiae carnival. Get your posts in by Friday on anything or the theme "being a good example even in a misstep" and she'll post the carnival this weekend. Thanks, Jen!
  • Everyone is gearing up for ScienceBlogs participating in DonorsChoose 2008 and we are no exception. Watch for an announcement of our Donors Choose campaign coming up on Wednesday! (Updated 10/1: here's the link.
  • Steve Higgins of Of Two Minds and I hosted a 10^6 Comment party at Jupiter's Pizza in Champaign IL, and while Steve has the video camera and I can't vouch for the quality of the video, I have a couple of photos I hope to share soon. It was great meeting people - thanks to everyone who came out!
  • We did a couple of other fun things this weekend, and I want to share photos - just have to get to writing the post.
Okay, I gotta get back to work for a bit. Gotta draft a grant proposal that is due in 3 weeks, draft two agendas for meetings W and F, turn around an IRB proposal, send one grad student something she's been asking for for a week and I sent the wrong doc, modify an org chart that currently looks like a complete nightmare, and deal with some actually important email I've been avoiding because it's going to be hard to respond to. Cheerio!
