Goody goody

i-9dc84d4d9156dccb30d5f62466b4219a-swblocks.jpgHi there. Long time, no see. I’ve been busy doing work, having fun, and remembering to celebrate the good things in my life. Here’s what’s been happening in the past week:

  • Monday: I got to see a beautiful new place.
  • Tuesday: My flights home proceeded smoothly.
  • Wednesday: My daughter woke me up by laughing in her sleep.
  • Thursday: My PhD student passed hir orals/comps.
  • Friday: My undergraduate student presented hir first poster and won an honorable mention in the campus undergraduate research conference.
  • Today: Minnow, Princess Pup and I spent a lovely morning walking in the woods.

We’re into the final few weeks of the semester, I’ve got a bunch of work to do before I am free of it, so blogging will continue to be light for a while. Hope all is going well for all of you.

yeah, the ‘hir’ threw me for a loop for a second. I thought the first one was a typo, but when I saw it again, I figured it out. I like it. Clever 🙂

Hir is not a unique construction/obfustication. I see it in several other forums as well and decided it was simply the easiest way to provide some disguise for talking about students.

I really need some women that are interested in science to come add to my blog. Lately, I have been writing about biological basis of behavior issues and most of my readership has become male. They tend to disagree with me most of the time. I would like a better balance of perspectives, so if this blog is going to light, come to my place!

Being woken by your daughter’s laughter–that’s great.

not to stray off topic, but holy shit Feministx, I go to your site, hoping to see something interesting and what do I see….you being a frickin’ racist idiot with a post about how ugly aborigines are. wow…really great blog you have there. You state:

“I don’t like to be a racist, but are they really that hideous in general?
I don’t believe the women of any other race are categorically ugly, but I have to be honest here, they look borderline deformed. Like mothers of orks or something.”

I think I know who the hideous person is Feministx.
