On March 19, the prolific British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke died at age 90. At his 90th birthday party, in December, Clarke made three wishes: for the world to embrace cleaner energy resources, for a lasting peace in his adopted home, Sri Lanka, and for evidence of extraterrestrial beings. Are we allowed to be petty and childish? If so, am I the only person who is deeply irritated by comments about stem cell research such as 'it's hip, it's hot, it's happening!' Oh Lord!!!!!

There's something deeply Evil about a poll that won't let you see results (let alone live results) unless you subscribe for some newsletter.
