After much anticipation, a date and location for the New York Millionth Comment party have been chosen! The festivities will take place on the evening of Tuesday, October 7 at the Delancey (168 Delancey Street) in the Lower East Side. We will commence the merrymaking at 7:00 and continue til...? Who knows with the rowdy bunch of bloggers and Seed staffers we've invited.

We've rented out the top floor of the place for the event and will be providing food and a bar tab up to about $600. The Delancey will be suspending their usual cover charge. In attendance will be GrrlScientist, PhysioProf, Jake Young, Ginny Hughes, Erin Johnson, and Logan Elsass, among others.

We'd like to cordially invite all of our ScienceBlogs readers in the New York area—or anyone who's going to be in town—to join us in celebrating this milestone. Bring family, friends and your finest party attire, and be prepared for a blog-tastic evening.

Awesome! The very night I'll be in New York, of all nights... I'm so lucky.

Can anyone recommend an affordable (by postdoc fellow standards) hotel not too far from where the party's at?

Oh Boy! I'll be there.

7th of October? Why did you pick the night of the second presidential debate for this bash?

Posted by: Eppie in NYC | October 3, 2008 2:52 AM

oh crap has anyone seen the reviews on this place?

When the hostess finally admitted she had made a mistake, management still insisted it was our fault. Do not even waste your time at this place, it smells of old beer, flies are everywhere, and the manager really needs to figure out why he's working there in the first place.

What kind of business overbooks several parties on one small rooftop, advertises $4 drinks when they are actually $9, and banishes people from the one spot on the roof with a cool breeze on a hot summer night?! Management wasn't even nice about getting our party to move to a hot, stuffy corner. A rotund little man demanded to know which party we belonged to, said, "No no no you can't be here. Leave." and just waved us away without explaination

Hey! The party was a big hit! management wasn't even around and we were the only people in the entire bar!

It was great fun to meet the Seed staff peoples. Let's do it again!
