Weekend Diversion: Partner Acrobatics!

You see that there is no war within you. You're on your own side, and you are your own strength. -Terri Guillemets

Many of you don't know this, but over the last couple of months, my wife and I have been taking night classes in partner acrobatics! Why? Just because it sounded like a fun, athletic and adventurous thing to do.

(And to make up the fun to you of not having a song last week, here's an amazing two-for-one, with The David Grisman Quintet's Flatbush Waltz / Opus 57, from a live performance during the summer of 2001.)

Flatbush Waltz / Opus 57

Although I don't think we'll ever be able to do this routine, I wanted to show you what partner acrobatics looks like. Take a look at Golden Power, a Hungarian all-male duo of acrobats, doing some of the most amazing strength, flexibility, and balancing acts I've ever seen in tandem.

While I'm still learning to do a free-standing handstand, it's wonderful to have something this artistic, athletic, and inspiring to look forward to! So I hope that with the onset of the summer weather (at least here in the Northern Hemisphere) you find some incredibly fun way to stay active, and that you're enjoying a fabulous weekend!

A question for the Firefox users: How do I make Firefox on a PC use something other than Adobe Acrobat to read PDF files?
Contrary to my usual software updates posts where I post about updates to the blog software or to TheScian.com, this one is about the updates to the computers I use everyday. I use a PowerBook at home and a Dell Latitude with Windows XP at work.

With all the Internet attacks that exploit Adobe Acrobat Reader people should switch to using an alternative PDF reader, a security expert said at the RSA security conference on Tuesday.

Bummer. Now I feel even less fit.

Good luck! though.

It is not as sexy as all of that but my wife and I started fly fishing this spring. It will clearly not turn you into a golden Hungarian god but it is a good way to get out into the woods spend sometime in the sun lots of hiking and you get to eat delicious delicious trout.
