Reality has a well-known liberal bias

Seems that Stephen Colbert made things a little uncomfortable for Shrub at the White House Correspondent Dinner on Saturday night. He and Laura Bush were unsmiling at the end of Colbert's wonderful takedown. You can read more here, there is a transcript here, and a torrent of the video here.

As Colbert walked from the podium, when it was over, the president and First Lady gave him quick nods, unsmiling. The president shook his hand and tapped his elbow, and left immediately.

Those seated near Bush told [Editor & Publisher]'s Joe Strupp, who was elsewhere in the room, that Bush had quickly turned from an amused guest to an obviously offended target as Colbert's comments brought up his low approval ratings and problems in Iraq. ... Another noted that Bush quickly turned unhappy, and left the dais shortly after while most seated near him, including Colbert and Snow, glad-handed the crowd. "You could see he stopped smiling about halfway through Colbert," he reported.

Several links to the entire massacre can be found on DailyKos; apparently some links/transcriptions are not entire. MSM (that means Mass Stupidifying Media, yes?) has avoided this like a road-killed skunk, and may have been too drunk at the event to understand what transpired before them.

There are videos also availiable on youtube (www.youtube.com). a search for 'colbert' brings them up.

While the Colbert tour de force has been getting lots of attention on the web...traditional media outlets have been absolutely loathe to have anything to do with it which is terribly disappointing. DailyKos has a really good breakdown of why Colbert is getting no press time, while Harry Taylor, (the guy who confronted Bush at a 'townhall' meeting) took the limelight: http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2006/5/1/122241/8659
